Hamer Guitars are among the finest guitars ever built.
This page is to help you identify the year of any Hamer.
Hamer uses 2 serial numbering systems.

1976 to 1981
#0001 to #0680
A Total of 680 guitars
All Custom Shop guitars or custom made for someone special etc etc.
All of these instruments have a stamped into the wood 4 digit serial number
Numbering System # 2
1977 to Present Day
The import guitar models built in before November will have a serial number starting with the letter 'F'. F7XXXXX (1997) F8XXXXX (1998) F9XXXXX(1999) F0XXXXX (2000) In the year 2000 their 'F' serial system was changed. They added a number to the end of the serial until they decided to change systems completely. Fender guitars produced in Japan have the serial number on the back of the neck, near the attachment to the body. In some reissue models it can be found on the headstock or the neck plate. The combination of the text 'Made in Japan' and the serial number was used until 1997. In 1974 Hamer used a four digit number stamped into the wood starting with guitar #0000 and until the launch of the Sunburst this system was used on all guitars. The Sunbursts were numbered using a different system: the first digit represents the year of production and the following four (or later five digit number) is the total number of. The serial number alone in any of these. Make/Model: Hamer Sunburst Arch Top Guitar Year: Not Sure Serial Number: 7033401 Location of Manufacture: Korea Scale Length: 25'Nut Width: 1.
