Fowl Words is a game that doesn’t really send out much confidence when thinking about its content. After all, you’re probably very aware of what fowl means most of the time and it gets you thinking. Don’t think about it too much though, it’s a game in which you have to make words using the letters that are inscribed on eggs that have been laid by seven chickens.

A casual game for the kids, young and old

The idea to Fowl Words is very simple. At the start of each level you get seven random letters which you must use to write as many names as you can in a fixed amount of time. You can add each letter only once and the game tells you how many words can actually be composed.

A nice trick is that you can bet on how many you can write. Since the game knows the letters it’s about to display, it allows you to make a small wager in points on how many you can find. It’s a nice little feature that get’s you motivated and also has you panicking when you don't have nearly as many words as you need.

Simple game concept and accessible gameplay

Playing a round of Fowl Words can be done in two ways, using your mouse or your keyboard. The latter is much more efficient since typing the letters of the word and hitting Enter is a lot quicker than clicking on the chickens and then the ‘Enter’ button. Or, you can combine the two to get the best of both.

Fowl Words is well suited for just about anyone who wants spend a few casual minutes or hours. The game has a user-friendly user interface and in most cases, it’s really easy to find plenty of words. However, there are plenty of cases in which the game shows you at the end of around all the words it found, and a lot of them don’t really exist.

Good to play on a rainy day

On a closing note, Fowl Words is a good game to have around when you want to practice spelling with the kids or by yourself.

This is a barnyard game between you and seven hens. Each hen bears a letter. Use the letters to spell as many words as you can before time runs out. To spell a word, type the letters or click the hens in order, and the word appear. Press your ENTER key or click the Enter button to enter the word and start the next one. You BACKSPACE key erases the last letter, and the ESC key or Clear button will erase all letters. Press your SPACEBAR or the Scrambler button to scramble up the letters for a different perspective. To keep things interesting, you get to bet how well you can do at the beginning of each round. Can you find 8 words for 1,000 bonus points? 13 words for 3,000 bonus points? What about 19 words for a big 10,000 bonus points? Don't shoot too high, because if you miss, the game is over! The words you find are stacked in the egg rack above the hens. You score 100 for each 3 letter word, 200 for 4 letters, 400 for 5 letters, 800 for 6 letters, and 1,600 for 7 letters. Each round, the 7 letters are guaranteed to spell at least one 7 letter word.
